The College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) is a federally funded program designed to meet the needs of students with migrant and seasonal farm working backgrounds. CAMP offers eligible students a variety of support services to help develop the necessary skills to succeed in college. CAMP collaborates with college faculty, student services and community-based agencies to improve educational and career opportunities for all CAMP eligible students.
CAMP students will become immersed into higher education with valuable information to assist them in their first year of college. CAMP and its staff are committed to helping their students succeed
El Programa de Asistencia para Estudiantes Migrantes, conocido por sus signas de CAMP, es para estudiantes que son trabajadores de agricultura o dependientes de familias que son trabajadores de agricultura. CAMP les da el apoyo necesario para triunfar durante el primer año del colegio y brinda un ambiente positiva donde estudiantes se pueden desarrollar y realizar sus metas academicas.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be eligible to participate in CAMP you must:
• Be a migrant or seasonal farm worker*; or a dependent of a migrant or seasonal farm worker or participating in or eligible or have participated in the MEP or HEP program
• Be enrolled in 12 units per semester
• Be a legal resident
• Be a college freshman or have completed less than 24 college credit units
-Attend Santiago Canyon College and/or Santa Ana College
* Migrant or Seasonal Farmworker-a person whose primary employment is in agricultural activity* or
farm work on a temporary or seasonal basis, employed for a minimum of 75 days in the past 24 months.
* Agricultural activity-employment related to the production of crops, livestock, dairy products, fish farms, poultry, and cultivation and/or harvesting of trees. Work that is performed for wages or personal livelihood on a ranch, farm, or similar businesses are eligible.

Para ser elegible, estudiantes deben cumplir los siguientes requisitos:
•Ser trabajador migrante del campo* o agricultura* o un dependiente de un trabajador migrante
• Ser residente legal del pais
• Haber completado menos de 24 unidades academicos
• Tener el Colegio Comunitario de Santiago Canyon College como su colegio principal
*Trabajador Migrante de/ campo- una persona que fue empleado en agricultura* temporal, cual require viajar y trabajar por un minimo de 75 dias en los ultimos 24 meses
* Agricultura - Empleo relacionado con la produccion de cultivos, Ganado, productos lacteos, avicolas, granjas de peces, cultivo y cosecha de arboles. Trabajo realizado por los salarios o los medias de subsistencia personal en un rancho, granja o negocio similar son elegibles.

To be eligible for the SCC CAMP program you or your parent/guardian must have spent a minimum of 75 days during the past 24 months as a migrant or seasonal Farm worker. Additional eligibility can be verified through eligibility/participation in MEP or HEP programs. Consult with the CAMP staff for particular information on eligibility.
Agriculture activity means: (i) Any activity directly related to the production of crops, dairy products, poultry, or livestock: any activity directly related to the cultivation or harvesting of trees; or any activity directly related to fish farms.
Farm work means: any labor or employment performed for either wages or personal subsistence, on a farm, ranch or similar establishment.

I understand it may be necessary for CAMP staff to obtain records from outside the Rancho Santiago Community College District in order to verify my current academic and financial status. I give my permission for such records to be obtained.
By signing below, I hereby certify that all statements made on this application and all other documents I have submitted in support of my CAMP application are true and complete to the best of my knowledge.
